Rehabilitation of decayed or fractured teeth
Conservative Dentistry is the branch that deals with the rehabilitation of the decayed or fractured tooth, using high-performance and aesthetic materials that replace the missing part of the tooth. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), dental caries affects about 60-90% of school-age children and nearly 100% of adults globally. Symptoms of cavities include: excessive sensitivity to hot, cold or sugary foods, and pain that increases in the supine position. Our materials allow the patient to immediately return to chewing and smiling, perfectly mimicking the characteristics of the natural tooth.
Operating Procedures
The diagnosis of caries needs to be confirmed by endoral radiographs, which are small X-rays that capture only the decayed tooth. The adhesion of the filling material to the tooth plays a crucial role in the success of conservative treatment; in fact, our practice uses all the instruments and materials recommended by recent guidelines.
Direct Reconstructions
Direct restorations are performed in a single session by taking advantage of materials that
are molded by the doctor onto the surface of the damaged tooth, strictly following anatomy and aesthetics. They can be performed on all teeth, from molars to incisors. Depending on the location of the caries or the portion of the tooth damaged as a result of trauma we will speak of 1st / 2nd / 3rd / 4th / 5th CLASS reconstructions.
Indirect Reconstructions
Indirect restorations, on the other hand, taking advantage of the dental laboratory: digital impressions are taken to reproduce the portion of the missing tooth that will later be cemented in place. Based on the extent of the inlay we will speak of Inlay, Onlay and Overlay.

No, if the caries is very superficial no symptoms will be felt while if the caries is deeper local anesthesia of the tooth will be performed.

Periodic checkups and professional hygiene sessions should be carried out every six months.

The tooth will respond excessively to thermal stimuli of heat and cold, or to foods or drinks that are too sugary. Pain that increases in supine position may also begin.
Can I chew comfortably after reconstructing the tooth?

I have teeth with black fillings, commonly called ''plumbings,'' can they fit?
These types of fillings are no longer made; they are unsightly and their deterioration can compromise the patient's health as a result of ingestion
of the material. In these cases, the material is safely removed and the filling is redone using aesthetic materials.
